I bought a set of three plain wooden boxes from Ikea on my last trip. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them at the time, but I knew I'd modify them somehow. A collection of leftover papers from projects past was just what the boxes needed.
First, I traced out each box shape twice (once for the front of each box and once for the back. I left the sides uncovered). Then I cut the shapes out with scissors and adhered them to front and back of each box using some clear-drying craft glue. That's it!
For 20 minutes of my time, I'd say these came out pretty nice! I'm planning on using them to hold paperclips and pens and other small objects on my desk at work.
